We were passing through Hartford on a Sunday and stopped to check out this skate park. It officially opened in July 2014. The park is known as Heaven, and it sits atop I-84 as it passes through this former insurance capital. The official name of the park is the New Ross, County Wexford Park or simply Wexford Skate Park, named after Hartford's sister city in Southern Ireland.
Hartford has cultivated a lenient policy toward skateboarding, becoming a haven for skating. The skate park is the "is the only city-sanctioned public space where people are allowed to spray paint", albeit with some controversy.
