Bye Bye Seattle Street Art

Here are two last bits of Seattle graffiti and street art -- at least for a while -- before we head off to Italy. We snapped these photos from a car speeding around town frantically getting ready for our departure.

We covered this lot near the corner of Eastlake Ave E and Harvard Ave E before in Street Art in an Abandoned Lot. I suppose when we return to Seattle, a building will be occupying the lot.

This shot was taken on Dexter Ave N where development is in full swing. Appropriately, the artist chose the Notice of Proposed Land Use Action sign as the canvas.

Street Art in an Abandoned Lot

Location: Eastlake Ave E and Harvard Ave E.

Description: It was the lettering on the wall that caught my attention. Always, late at night we drive by after Italian class and I see the lettering, vowing to go back during the day. Well, we finally did, and the walls are fun to look at. The lot is a dumping ground that, by the looks of the orange lines on the walls, is about to get a make-over.

Lo Fi Performance Gallery - Mural

Before and Silly (Left), After and Sinister (Right)Fuzzy Creature Early ONFuzzy Creature a Few Weeks Later
Walking from the dentist to work one day, I saw these intriguing images and took some photos. A couple of weeks later and with a slightly numb mouth (again coming from the dentist), I stopped and took some more photos. You can see from the photos some progress on the transforming the black and white animal from silly to sinister.

I believe the wall murals are associated with the Lo Fi Performance Gallery, a club dance club that has a Tuesday “stop biting” dance night. Don’t know what that is, but seems appropriate as I walked by with my temporary crown (not on my head, but on my tooth).
