We found this product under our sink and were wondering what it is. A new soda? Plant food? Turns out it is a “smacchiatore” or stain remover. “Macchiare” is to stain something and “smacchiare” (with a simple “s” in front) is to remove a stain. Changing the end of the verb to have an “tore” turns it into a noun. Finito.
“E’ un solvente utile e sicuro per rimouvere grasso, pittura a olio, smalto e vernice.” It even has a cap that is safe for children: “Tappo sicurezza salvabimbo.”
