Length: 11.9 miles (according to our Garmin HCX)
Duration: 8.00 hours (8:30 am – 4:30 pm), includes 45 min lunch break
Elevation Gain: 2,361 ft @ Barlow Pass parking lot; 5,200 ft @ Foggy Lake
Location: North Cascades -- Mountain Loop Highway

For our eighth hike of the 2014 summer (and bringing us to 107.4 total miles this season), we climbed up to Foggy Lake and explored the lower reaches of Gothic Peak (WTA site). We hiked up beyond Foggy Lake, trying to reach Gothic Peak (6,213 ft), but we deemed it a bit too risky for our experience level. We topped out at 5,900 ft, on the east side of Gothic Peak. Despite that, it was still a great hike.
