I woke up this morning and was wondering about the lyrics to “
O Sole Mio”. I always heard this as “O Solo Mio” (with an “o”) and thought it was a song about being lonely (silly, huh?) because of “solo”. It really is a song about the sun and the title is “My Sun” in the Neapolitan dialect. In formal Italian it would be “Il Sole Mio”. File under misheard.
